Data MiningThe data mining task continues its analysis of how raw data generated from APTS technologies can be converted into meaningful and useful information for transit planning and management.A web-based application prototype will be developed and tested. The application will be designed to demonstrate how raw APTS data can be taken to the point of generation through archiving, processing, data mining, and analysis. ITS/APTS data (AVL, APC, and Electronic Fare Payment systems data) will be collected from three Florida transit agencies. GIS will be used as much as possible to take advantage of the temporal and spatial data that is inherent in transit. The APTS Data Archiving and Mining System (ADAMS) resulting from this task will be incorporated and made available on the web. The development and implementation of the ADAMS software will serve as the transit element of the larger FDOT Transportation Data Warehouse Project, so coordination will be required. |
