Annual Work Program
The RAPTS annual work program, now in its 3rd year, continues to build upon past activities. The
RAPTS website has an updated and improved look. The RAPTS Inventory Database is getting a complete
overhaul including the collection of new data sets never collected before and more complete analysis
of the data.
The underlying objectives of the RAPTS program include:
- Work with state and local agencies to ensure the successful and cost effective deployment of APTS in
Florida.
- Maintain an APTS database for public transportation and overall transportation system planning,
coordination, and deployment.
- Support State ITS Architecture standards, guidelines, and deployment efforts.
- Research and analyze the use of various APTS technology data outputs for prototypical information
systems that enhance the management and performance of public transportation services.
- Offer a technical assistance resource for public agency interest in planning, developing, and
implementing APTS technologies.
- Develop and maintain APTS/ITS procurement assistance to maximize the cost competition and support
statewide system compatibility, integration and maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate APTS activities with FDOT ITS Office program objectives and support efforts.
- Design an APTS Training Program to provide relevant information and procedures for transit
professionals in order to conduct planning, design, procurement, and deployment activities.
